EMIRC
Hits Twice!
New
Video About To Rock da
Rock!
How
ironic!
After HuiMusic just
got through doing articles
on music videos in
Hawaii
,
local Hip Hop artist EMIRC
has nailed a top rate
music video to the wall.
Flip The Bird productions
has followed up their
break through CD, Rhyme
And Punishment with an
even stronger video.
EMIRC performing
his hit single “
Honolulu
”
in this video, and sets
new standards once again.
The public debut of
EMIRC performing
Honolulu
is going to be Monday
night (8/9) on DIS-N-DAT
on OC16 at
6PM
.
So
what makes this so
different than other
videos?
For one, they
completely shot the video
on film.
That in itself
doesn’t make a good
video, however it does add
a visual quality that
can’t compare to Beta or
DV shooting.
The production was
great and it was
consistent and seamless.
At the end of the day,
it’s all going to be
about the direction and
story telling of the
video. So far, one of the
best videos yet out of all
that I have seen, and THE
BEST from any Hip Hop
artist here in
Hawaii
!
Pulling
out all
the stops, Flip The
Bird Productions did
everything right and went
way long for a mainstream
looking video that has
what it takes to be
seriously submitted for
MTV.
All the cool shots
that you’d see in top
rap videos by today’s
hottest Hip Hop artists
are all there without a
hitch.
EMIRC telling it
straight, the girls
looking hot and
representing and great
sweeping shots of
Hawaii
are a few hot points of
the video.
One of the coolest
shots that stuck with me
is of EMIRC rapping off a
reflection off of spinning
dubs (hubcaps).
Other notable moves
in the video are the
sweeping helicopter shots
of EMIRC atop
Diamond
Head
and other recognizable
Hawaii
landmarks.
Without
a doubt, the video has set
new standards and
expectations for artists
in
Hawaii
that want to breakout
mainstream.
From day one since
the release of Rhyme and
Punishment, Jimmy Taco,
EMIRC and the rest of the
crew at Flip The Bird have
handled the marketing and
promotions with the
veracity of major labels.
Though the CD was released
a few months back, FTB is
as hard at work now as
they were since the CD
released.
Another
great thing about the
video and its production
is that it forces other
local production companies
to up-the-ante of style,
directing and presentation
for future clients. Also
one of the most important
aspects of this video is
the fact that DIS-N-DAT is
coming to bat and breaking
the video.
Kutmaster Spaz has
always had the best
interests of the
mainstream
Hawaii
artist music in mind when
programming DND.
Big “RIGHT ON”
for that and that seems to
be the beginning of many
new things going on with
DND!
To
EMIRC, Jimmy Taco and the
rest of the crew at FTB,
your hard work is very
appreciated by the music
industry here in
Hawaii
.
Along with other
Hip Hop artists like Sean
Jay, keeping it real,
pushing the production
limits and representing
Hawaii
from afar keeps us in your
corner.
GREAT WORK.
Look
for the debut of the video
Honolulu
by artist EMIRC on OC16
DIS-N-DAT, Monday night
(8/9) @
6pm
.
