Jordan Segundo:

Arriving With CD Release After A Round Trip With Fame

By Geebz

After releasing a “single” in mid 2004 Jordan Segundo is finally out with his follow-up full length CD self titled “Jordan.”  Without much fanfare, Jordan’s latest CD has snuck up in popularity based on one thing; strong songwriting and production.

After listening to the CD a number of times, I took quick notice on the new turn in progressive production and broad styling of Segundo.  Strong songwriting and production talents makes Jordan’s post American Idol release more than a local pop album.

What is a noticeable difference about Jordan as a performer is the maturing of his voice since American Idol.  Though it’s only been a couple of years since AI, Jordan has embraced the new flexibility of his voice.  The work that he has done as a performer in the last 2 years and spending much time in the studio working with Dave Tucciarone has brought forth more versatility in Jordan’s voice which is apparent in his new CD.

I also enjoyed the fact that there were some great strides taken in the production, yet Tucciarone still manages to keep a sense of local contemporary arranging (very tricky).  Of course there is the cover track that manages to stay in the status quo of re-makes which is the song “Let’s Stay Together” featuring Kanoe Gibson.  Other guest singers include Anita Hall and Maila Gibson.  Tucciarone also manages to put a small dollop of Alternative on a few of the tracks.

But during the long period since his ride to stardom via the American Idol rocket and the release of his new CD, Jordan has been very busy utilizing his new status for socially conscious programs as well as advertisings such as Subway.

The list of Jordan’s post American Idol performances is also very impressive.  Since AI, Jordan has performed for President Bush at a prestigious banquet in Hawaii, with Kenny Loggins at his CD release party, for the Lakers’ Games in Hawaii, with The Honolulu Symphony (sixty piece orchestra) several times and many more performances locally and on the mainland. Jordan has been featured on numerous magazine covers and been interviewed on international television shows like “Balitang America” and “Probe Team” and national shows like “Stir T.V.” and local shows such as “Emme’s Island Moments and her Christmas Show, “American Idol” specials and even doing commentary on the KHON-TV News.

Look for Jordan to continually be primed for mainstream success.  He has managed to surround himself with competent people that have looked out for him on both the musical and business side of his career.  Jordan will be performing at The Pro-Bowl Festival on February 12 at Kapiolani Park Bandstand at 2:45 p.m. and he is the spokesperson for The first annual Hawaii Music Expo on March 11, 12 and 13 at The Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.  In addition, he is the spokesperson for The Clean Water Campaign for The City & County of Honolulu and does promotional appearances for both.    He will be performing at a lot of upcoming special events, also.

In April, Jordan kicks off a ten city tour on the mainland beginning with Chicago.  The tour is spread out throughout 2005. He performs in Las Vegas for the May Day Festival during the first weekend in May.  There are more upcoming performances being planned for the mainland and the Philippines.

The CD “Jordan” has been released to all the retail stores in Hawaii and is available online for all you “off-islanders”.  You can visit Jordan and stay up to date with what’s going on at:
